PhotoBox Group appoints Dominic Cameron as Group CTO
Reinforcing the management team, accelerating technological innovation, and driving growth

London, UK – Tuesday, 18 June 2013 – PhotoBox Group (the “Group”), Europe’s leading provider of personalised products to consumers and operator of the PhotoBox and Moonpig.com brands, is pleased to announce the appointment of  Dominic Cameron as the Group’s Chief Technology Officer.

Dominic brings a wealth of experience to the PhotoBox Group having held a number of senior positions at other successful online digital businesses. As the first executive to join and launch BBC News Online in 1997, CTO during the founding and stand-out IPO of lastminute.com in 2000, co-founder of Upmystreet.com (now merged into Zoopla ) and Managing Director of ITV.com in 2006 when online video took-off in the UK – Dominic has a rich mix of business and engineering skills to contribute to the next evolution of the Photobox Group.

Most recently Dominic completed the formation of a multi-lingual ecommerce organisation for Alghanim Industries – the leading Middle East retail group – and has joined the board of IntentHQ Ltd, a London start up focused on social data and personalisation. Dominic is also a Director of human resources consultancy Bioss International Ltd.

Dominic will be part of the PhotoBox Group management team, and be responsible for all technology-related matters across the Group. He will work closely with the existing team, including Graham Hobson, CTO and co-founder of the PhotoBox service, across business units, product and manufacturing to help scale the Group’s systems and fast-track “product & technology” innovation driving future growth.

Dominic will be leveraging some of the best work happening at PhotoBox with particular focus on accelerating the development of the Group’s mobile platforms.

Commenting on his appointment, Dominic Cameron said:

“Photography is the killer app of the mobile phone. We’re taking billions more photos than we ever did before, yet we don’t want these images just stuck in a digital box. As consumers we want to celebrate, cherish, share and gift our memories and this is what the teams at Photobox and Moonpig are making possible. As a technologist, this is a great opportunity and I am excited to be joining such a strong and dynamic enterprise.”

Commenting on the appointment, PhotoBox Group Chief Executive Officer, Stan Laurent, said:

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dominic Cameron as Group CTO.  Dominic has an impressive track record in technology, innovation and business leadership and I have no doubt he will make a significant contribution to the Group as we continue to launch new products, accelerate our mobile deployment and expand into new geographic markets. Dominic’s industry experience and the perspective he brings will be an invaluable addition and will help drive us to become a global market leader in the online personalisation space.”
