Graham Hobson, Incubator MD and PhotoBox co-founder

PhotoBox

Graham in less than 20 words:

An entrepreneur that puts customer satisfaction at the centre of everything, always ready to take up a new technological challenge.

Working life:

Since graduating, Graham has worked for the London Stock Exchange and several investment banks before founding PhotoBox. Despite often getting involved in a wider scope of each business, his focus has always been on the application of technology.

Reasons for joining PhotoBox:

“Well, I didn’t join PhotoBox, it chose me. PhotoBox is a concept which like many, is born of necessity. As a technology lover, I was so excited when I got my first digital camera in the late 1990s especially as I had young children and thought it was the perfect way to capture them growing up. I soon realised that there was no service available for getting great quality, affordable prints from digital images. I thought “how hard can it really be?”; so with the help of some amazing and skilled friends, we did it. PhotoBox was created as the service we ourselves would want to use.”

Graham co-founded PhotoBox with friend and colleague Mark Chapman in 2000, and assumed the CEO position for the first 6 years of the company. Since then Graham has been Chief Technology Officer for the PhotoBox service across Europe. Some of his career highlights include:

  • Launched first European online print service with a next-day delivery service (Photobox!)
  • Grew the UK business to be market leader
  • Developed a single PhotoBox brand platform from 5 platforms running across 14 different countries

Education:

Graham holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science from the University of Westminster

Away from the office:

Graham loves everything tech, but in the time he does spend away from the office, he can be found swimming, riding his microscooter or spending time with his wife and 3 sons in West London.
